How can I help
Volunteer
“FOR WE ARE GOD’S HANDIWORK, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS TO DO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD PREPARED IN ADVANCE FOR US TO DO.”
— Ephesians 2:10 NIV
Your involvement is crucial at Azalea, where many volunteer opportunities await. Whether you wish to work directly with those we serve or support our frontline efforts, volunteering here is a deeply fulfilling experience. Nearly half of our volunteers have been with us for over seven years, joining a skilled and welcoming team. Your time and dedication profoundly impact the lives of many, especially the women we assist, who are deeply touched by your commitment to their wellbeing without any financial gain.

You might be interested to know why some of our volunteers give their time to Azalea, they said it was because:
“this is where God’s heart is”
“the team are a family, together”
“it really matters, it’s great to be part of a team seeking to show love and compassion to the women”
We would love you to consider joining our movement, our family, as a volunteer. We look forward to hearing from you.
FRONTLINE.
In preparation for Frontline work with Flint and Encompass we offer a comprehensive four day training course. It has been described as being “rooted in God and based on the Bible, which gives helpful insights and practical information”. Interviews are held for volunteer positions following completion of the training.
We require a three year commitment for all Frontline Volunteer roles with the exception of the work with sex trafficking which is 12 months.

BAKING.
Cakes are an essential for Azalea, particularly for Encompass, so if you love to bake, and don’t always want to enjoy it yourself we would love to have you join our group of wonderful bakers. Of course, we could go to a supermarket and buy sweet treats, but handing out homemade baked goodies communicates that someone cared enough to give up their time to make them. You will be on a rota, and wouldn’t be expected to bake more than once a month.
COOKING.
When the women come to Encompass they are often hungry, having not eaten for days. Our freezers are stocked with single portions of nourishing homemade meals which can be heated immediately or taken away to be eaten later. If you love to cook, and can rustle up a curry, tuna pasta, spaghetti bolognaise or chilli con carne (and others!) then this is the team for you. We also offer a meal at Alpha, with a main course and dessert, and are grateful to those who can provide this for as well.
Fundraise
There are numerous ways you can fundraise for Azalea, whether you want to hold a bake sale, put on a concert, sit in a bath tub of baked beans or even climb Everest! You might also choose to join in with one (or both) of our main fundraising campaigns which take place at Christmas-time, or our late-Spring event in which we encourage supporters to fundraise for Azalea through varied activities!
While you’re here did you know that you can follow us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to keep up to date with what’s going on in Azalea including our Fundraising activities? Or you can sign up to our email updates and keep in touch that way.
